What we did before.
Turiyo Foundation has worked in Chauddhachuli and a surrounding cluster of seven or eight villages in the Haludbari panchayat, Khejuri II block, since 2020. The programmes below have been executed, handed on, or completed. They are listed here as record, not as an appeal.
A single noteworthy methodology united them all.
- 01Community first
- 02Solutions that could survive without charity
- 03Full-time residence rather than visiting
- 04Outside experts brought in and given an open brief
- 05Local people identified and trained to take over

The residency.
Turiyo Foods’ work was redirected into what is now the residency programme — teaching the craft rather than manufacturing the product. For two nights each winter, in a village in Purba Medinipur, we teach Gohona Bori to whoever wants to learn.
