How ordering Gohona Bori works.

There is no stock. There is no ‘add to cart’. You tell us what you want before the season, and we make it.

Four steps

From booking to your kitchen.

  1. Step 1

    Book before the season.

Send us your quantities before the winter production window opens. We confirm what we can commit to.
  2. Step 2

    We make it.

Production runs November to February, weather permitting. Cold air for the batter, clear sun for the drying.

  3. Step 3

    We pack and dispatch.

In batches, from mid-December 2026 to the end of February 2027. Gohona Bori is fragile: by hand, within Kolkata only, in paper boxes. Pickles and other items: by courier, within India, in glass bottles. No international orders for now.

  4. Step 4

    Next season.

Booked customers are contacted first the following year.
The season

Why you can’t order Gohona Bori in summer.

The whole process depends on winter. Cold weather for the batter to rise, clear sun to dry the bori to the right crispness and colour. If the sky closes over, even half a day’s work is lost — soaked lentil paste cannot be stored. Production is only possible between November and February.

You can register interest at any time of year and we will contact you before the window opens.
